Koury Aviation FAQ

jet-charter-faq Air Charter FAQ

How many airports do you serve?

We have access to over 5000 US airports and also serve Canada, Mexico, Central America, Bermuda and the Caribbean. We will help you choose the most convenient airport for your departure point and for each leg of your trip.

What happens once I arrive at the airport?

Your pilots will be waiting for you. They will escort you to the airplane and load your baggage. Some airports allow you to drive your car right up to the aircraft to board. You will usually be airborne within a few minutes of your arrival at the airport. Your airplane waits for you at your destination and will depart on your schedule.

How much advance notice is required to book a trip?

As little as two hours if a crew and one of our aircraft are available. Our aircraft are reserved on a first come first served basis.

How is the base cost of my trip determined?

You will be renting the entire airplane rather than just one seat as with the airlines. Therefore the cost of your trip will be the same whether you have one passenger or eight passengers. Each aircraft has an hourly flight rate and average cruise speed. We estimate the time required to fly your trip and provide a firm quote to you when you make a reservation.

What other charges apply?

Tax:
Federal Excise Tax is currently 7.5% plus $3.70 per leg per passenger.

Overnight Charge: You pay for hotel rooms and meals for the crew if necessary.

Expenses: Ramp fees, de-icing fees, landing fees, special catering fees, etc are charged at actual cost. These fees may vary widely depending on which airports you choose to use. Some trips may have no special expenses while others may incur several hundred dollars. We will make every effort to advise you about expenses we can anticipate in advance.

Jet Charter

Charter is Cost Effective

Air Charter is the most cost effective means of employing business aircraft. Unlike other alternatives, such as whole or partial aircraft ownership, there is no capital investment, no monthly managment fee, no bulk flight hours that must be purchased, no personnel expense and no regulatory compliance requirements for the charter customer. Air charter is almost always a more productive means of travel than airline service and can also be cheaper, particularly when multiple destinations need to be visited, when the destination is not at a major airline hub, when several passengers travel together or when charter allows the trip to be shortened so that overnight stays are unnecessary.

Save Employee Time

Efficient employee scheduling and employee time savings are key advantages of air charter. Because business aircraft have the ability to fly nonstop between small close-in airports, highly efficient employee time management becomes a very real benefit. Departure is usually possible within minutes of your arrival at the airport.

Increase Productivity En Route

Employee productivity may be sustained en route to a business destination – in a secure office environment, free from interruptions, distractions or eavesdropping. This can have substantial value to a company, including strategizing before meetings and debriefing afterwards or meeting customers en route.

Minimize Non-business Hours Away from Home

‘Family Time’ before and after traditional business hours is critical to most employees and can have an acute effect on employee moral and productivity. Air charter allows flexible scheduling and quick and easy access to meeting locations, thereby minimizing time away from home and office. Overnight trips can often be avoided.

Reduce Fatigue

Air charter allows employees to avoid the debilitating impact of commercial airline travel with its discomfort, delays and frustrations. Employees utilizing business aircraft arrive refreshed and relaxed, ready to accomplish their mission and are often able to return the same day.

Ensure Security

Avoid eavesdropping, reduce travel visibility, eliminate unwanted and unnecessary conversations and interruptions. Business aircraft safeguard company employees and the sensitive information they carry. Maximize Personal Safety and Peace of Mind

Turbine-powered business aircraft flown by two-person professional crews have a safety record comparable to on board your aircraft.

Exercise Management Control Over Efficient, Reliable Scheduling

The near-total scheduling flexibility inherent in air charter – even changing itineraries en route – can be a powerful asset. As aircraft can arrive and depart on the passengers’ schedule, typically waiting for them in the ordinary course of business, meetings can be moved up, back, or extended without penalty, risk or unnecessary scheduling pressures. Overnight trips can often be avoided.

Project a Positive Corporate Image

For customers particularly, and often for vendors, the arrival and departure of company employees via business aircraft is the sign of a well-run company, signaling the progressive nature of an organization with a keen interest in efficient time management and high levels of productivity.

Encourage Entrepreneurship

By minimizing or eliminating many of the barriers to travel, air charter allows business opportunities to be more readily considered and acted upon. Business cultures and their strategies change as markets, facilities and customers in other areas are newly accessible.
